Basil Ringewaldt was born in Kassel in Hesse in 1971. Through his father he got to know oil painting at an early age, which is still his preferred painting technique today.
The artist places particular emphasis on the depiction of rural motifs such as the forest, fields and animals. He combines these realistic motifs with elements of the surreal and "naive painting". Speaking or disguised animals in Ringewaldt's colorful works of art reflect human characteristics and feelings.
