Rosalba Giovanna Carriera - Pure rococo (1675 - 1757)
This artist was born on October 7, 1675 in Venice. At first, she painted miniature portraits. Later, she specialized in the concept of idealistic images colored with pastel chalk in a typical rococo style.
Carriera became well-known quickly and joined the Academy of San Luca in Rome. She also began to paint in France and Austria, both countries were seduced by her technique.
She died on 15 April, 1757 in the city of Venice.
