Deep Emotions

Gerhard Rasser presents an exceptionally diverse range in his art: He merges techniques of oil, watercolor, and pastel painting with various graphic methods, as well as Chinese ink painting and calligraphy.

Born in 1958 at Lake Constance, Rasser discovered his passion for art during his studies in architecture and art history. His works are dominated by emotional snapshots: deep emotions such as melancholy, transience, threat, loneliness, as well as longing and hope find expression here.

Rasser often draws inspiration from nature observations, such as birds, which for him symbolize an unrestricted freedom that remains forever elusive to humans.

Through his work, Gerhard Rasser seeks to inspire reflection and pause in a "restless, shrill, and noisy time."
