Zita Rauschgold was born in Hamburg in 1960 and developed a passion for visual arts early on. However, she initially pursued a different career path and only later dedicated herself intensively to painting. In 2007, she discovered abstract painting for herself and began to realign her artistic career. To deepen her skills, she took various courses, including at the Art Academy in Bad Reichenhall.
In her artistic work, Rauschgold prefers to engage with themes such as the four elements and the effect of colors. She explores sensory impressions, the duality of vitality and transience, as well as the balance between delicacy and strength. The beauty of contrasts and the search for life's traces in the world are central aspects of her works. She emphasizes recognizing the greatness in the small and making the everyday appear in a new light.
Technically, Rauschgold prefers working with acrylic paints and various materials. She draws inspiration for her abstract compositions from both memory and templates. Her inspiration is found in places like construction sites, scrapyards, nature, as well as in urban landscapes and facades with patina. These environments offer her a rich source of textures, colors, and shapes that she incorporates into her works.
Rauschgold is influenced by artists such as William Turner, Mark Rothko, Helene Schjerfbeck, and Helen Frankenthaler. Various representatives of abstract painting and surrealism also count among her guides. These influences are reflected in her use of color, form, and composition and contribute to the development of her own distinctive style.
Since turning to abstract painting, Zita Rauschgold has created numerous works that have been presented in various exhibitions. Her works invite the viewer to rediscover the world through her eyes and to feel the depth and emotions hidden in her abstract depictions.
