Biography of Felix Vallotton

The painter Felix Vallotton, who was born on December 28, 1865, went to Paris at the age of 17, to study art. In the 1890s, he was mainly known for his woodcuts and appeared with his works in several magazines. Two years later he became a member of the artist group Nabis. This group of artists consisted of young art students, including Paul Gauguin, and was assigned to Post-Impressionism. In addition to painting and sculpture, the young artists also worked in the fields of printing technology, book illustration, furniture design, etc.

Felix Vallotton participated in numerous exhibitions, made over 1,000 paintings and also wrote novels, plays and several sculptures before he died of cancer in 1925.
